  • 1/4 teaspoon table salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup mini M&M's (red, white & blue)
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray a 9-inch pie plate with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla until well mixed.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture until combined.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips, M&M's, and sprinkles. Spread into prepared pie plate.
  6. Bake for 17–18 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool on wire rack.
  7. Prepare frosting: Beat softened butter with salt and vanilla; gradually mix in powdered sugar and whipping cream until fluffy.
  8. Decorate cooled cake with frosting using a piping bag, adding more sprinkles on top.
