  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter (cold and cut into pieces)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a non-stick donut pan.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon for the crumb topping; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Chill in the freezer.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  4. In another bowl, whisk egg, sour cream, and melted butter until combined.
  5. Gently fold wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just mixed; do not overmix.
  6. Fill each mold of the donut pan with batter and sprinkle with crumb topping.
  7. Bake for 10-11 minutes until springy; cool slightly before removing.
