  • 1 & ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • ¾ cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ⅔ cup pumpkin puree, blotted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cream room temperature unsalted butter with white and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg, maple syrup, and blotted pumpkin puree; mix well.
  5. Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until combined.
  6. Fold in half of the chopped pecans.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool on a wire rack before icing with a mixture of powdered sugar, maple syrup, ground cloves, and cinnamon.
