Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups dry ditalini pasta
  • 2 1/23 cups chicken broth
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 34 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (plus more for serving)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-low heat, warm the olive oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  2. Add the dry ditalini pasta, stirring to coat with garlic.
  3. Pour in enough chicken broth to cover the pasta completely. Season with salt and pepper, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to simmer covered for about 9-10 minutes.
  4. Check for doneness, stirring occasionally. There may be some broth left; it will absorb as it cools.
  5. Stir in heavy cream over low heat for about a minute until combined.
  6. Remove from heat and mix in butter and parmesan cheese until melted into a creamy sauce.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed; sprinkle red pepper flakes for extra heat if desired.
